ARBUST
ARBUST is "The Association pour la Revalorisation des Bois Utilisant un Système de Traitement (Association for the Recycling of Wood Using a Processing Treatment)".
Founded in 1999, the association brings together all players in the wood impregnation industry, particularly those using autoclave pressure vacuuming for producing "Use class 4 pine".
The association's original aim was to establish an industry around recycling end-of-life, treated wood, given that the active ingredients used at the time still contained heavy metals, which were hard to recover. These are not dangerous as such, but they made it difficult for industry players to burn treated wood wherever and however they liked.
Products have since been changed to no longer contain metals other than copper and Bohrium, which are easier to recycle. Today, the association is involved in communicating and promoting the value of autoclave-treated wood.
INFO:
Today, autoclave-treated wood is classed as non-dangerous waste, previously referred to as "ordinary industrial waste".
