FRANCE BOIS FORÊT (FRANCE WOOD FOREST), financial partner of the timber industry
Founded on 8 December 2004, France Bois Forêt is a joint trade organisation. It was recognised by the Minister of Agriculture as an inter-branch organisation under article L 632-1 of the Rural Code, by an interministerial decree of 27 May 2005. It is regulated by the 1901 law.
A non-profit organisation, it unites public and private forest owners and managers, nurserymen, seedsmen and tree planters, as well as all professionals involved in primary wood processing (harvesting, sawing, thicknessing, wooden parquet flooring). It also brings together project implementation professionals in the building trade. The organisation unites the Forest Wood industry across the whole of France.
Members of France Bois Forêt include professional organizations. Its goal is to promote industry-wide economic development by increasing the use of wood materials among the general public, professionals and the many sectors of the French economy. It is also working to promote the different forestry trades and increase the focus on French forests within environmental politics through its role in reducing greenhouse gases.
France Bois Forêt's objective is to encourage the use of national forest resources and the use of wood through information and communication campaigns based on:
- The advantages of wood, in order to increase the demand for timber to the benefit of producers and processors of French timber;
- Economic indicators that are more comprehensive, clear and readable, allowing industry stakeholders to assess the market and monitor supply and demand;
- Engaging the relevant national stakeholders - professionals or elected officials - allowing them to better coordinate their efforts.
